After our long day at work, Rowjie and I were off at 7 AM. And since we were told that the Weekend Getaway crew would fetch us at 8 AM, we hurriedly went home because we still weren’t done packing our clothes. When we were already settled, my heart wouldn’t stop pounding while waiting for the crew. The pressure’s on, I thought. We’d be shown on national television, we didn’t know where we were headed, we had no idea what kind of activities were waiting for us. Then they arrived and filming started. Still with no knowledge of our destination, I pretended to be so sleepy while on our way to wherever when in reality, I was really anxious and nervous.
Rowjie and I were fetched at our humble abode by a big van with cameras and all the glitz. We didn’t know where we were headed. All I knew was we have a very long day ahead of us. And so I closed my eyes and played sleep. Then I heard this whisper, “Palalabs, papunta tayo ng Terminal 3.” And that kicked off our epic vacation, the one I will surely remember until my last breathe.
Persistence really pays off. And so if you are the type who easily gives up on something, it’s time to change gears. Here’s the audition video I created for GMA News TV 11’s Weekend Getaway, our ticket to Zamboanga, the farthest we’ve been! More pictures coming up! Keep posted for my stories of the whole experience. ☺
Location: Baler, Aurora Date: July 22 to 24 2011 Present: Kaiz and Jie, Team Jibb, Mel, Jojo It has been a long time since I wrote a decent entry, I admit. My past posts were nothing but inane rants. So here, an attempt on producing a substantial write-up. Dot dot dot. My friends at the office and I decided to take three days off from our exhausting work loads. And so we all agreed to go back to Aurora, which we visited some three years ago. Digital cameras were not yet a hype during that time. I promised not to miss the second chance of capturing Aurora’s beauty particularly Baler. For all I know, this could be my last visit to one of the North’s pearls. […]
Location: Coron, Palawan Date: June 28 2011 Present: Kaiz and Jie MNL to USU Rowjie and I were scheduled to fly at 12:00 noon so we still had ample time to finish packing our stuff since we went home right away after our night shift. This was the first time that we left this late. If you happened to have been reading my blog posts since I started the travelogue, you would know that I am not a fan of regular-amount airfares. I always wait for seat sales and promos because I cannot afford to pay for P4000 worth of tickets. With that being said, our trip to Busuanga via Cebu Pacific only costs us 100-plus with no check-in baggage. We brought Rowjie’s 45-liter backpack, my […]
Location: Rodriguez, Rizal Date: July 3 2011 Present: Kaiz, Jie, and HAKAMS So it is inappropriate to label my photo albums with Wawa Dam, San Rafael, Montalban, Rizal because Montalban has long been replaced by Rodriguez (1982). I stand corrected.
I am so lucky to have been chosen as one of the four winners of a round-trip plane tickets care of Cebu Pacific. Just like what I wrote, I am afraid of the sea water but I chose Siargao as my destination as I am fascinated by its world-renowned Cloud 9 waves. Dispatch Magazine, I can’t thank you enough. This is the first time I’ve ever won a travel-related contest.
