Read, Travel, and Blog

Alright, I am confessing. I dream of becoming a known travel blogger so famous that my website comes first when you Google “traveling philippines.” But that would have to wait until the time I become focused on writing and documenting every single details of my trips.

And since that isn’t happening anytime soon as I am too lazy to write and would rather drink and get drunk, I suggest you read the top travel blogs on my list (probably most Filipino travel bloggers and non-bloggers will agree). They inspire me and will definitely bring out the wanderlust in you.

Philippines Top 15 Travel Blogs for 2013
Philippines Top Travel Blogs for 2013 Poll as collated by Melo of Out of Town Blog.

In random order:

Lakwatsero by Angel – If there’s one blog you need to visit and wholeheartedly read when it comes to itineraries, it’s no less than Angel’s. He’s not just a diver, biker, traveler, writer, but also a Drew Arellano lookalike.

Solo Flight Ed by Ed – Most travelers and bloggers know Ed because of his crazy headstanding skills but only few are aware that he speaks better in English than in Tagalog.

Pinay Travel Junkie by Gay – Need I say more? Gay is a full-time hippie, part-time mum, and, er, gay. The Couchsurfing star, who chases both her baby doll Luna and robotics geek habibi, is barely home.

No Spam, No Virus, No Kiddin’! by Chyng – Her name is definitely not gay but she sure does write like one. Chyng is famous for her luxurious staycations and her notorious Indonesia experience.

Flip Nomad by Flip – The founder of Pinoy Travel Bloggers, the only blog that my husband sacredly reads from start to finish, and the living proof of digital nomad. I am dying to meet the Flip Nomad one day.

Travelling Feet by Doi – Make way for the Pinoy Travel Bloggers’ ultimate budget queen. I don’t know how you define cheap because for Doi, cheap equates to almost-free.

Adaphobic by Ada – I love the frankness of Ada’s blog. She’s not afraid to speak out what’s on her mind. One notable entry I could hardly forget was when she talked about the things she doesn’t like about some travel blogs.

Travelling Dork by Robx – Who doesn’t know Robbie? Blimey, you’re missing half of your life. Not only he’s good in multimedia arts, he’s also a real charmer. Tall, dark, and pretty. Go figure.

Escape Islands by Dong Ho – One of the blogs I regularly visit because of its uber cool segment, El Encuentro, a face-off between two awesome travel bloggers. Dong Ho is a pen name.

Travel Up by Kara – I am fan, hands down. Surfer, writer, photographer, wife, biker, gamer. We have something in common, love for beer and motorcycles.

Lakbay Diva by Edwin – If you want a good laugh, head to Lakbay Diva’s blog. Wondering how a straight man like Edwin ended up becoming a diva? Ask him.

There are a lot more notable blogs like Marky’s Nomadic Experiences, Ron and Monette’s Flip’n Travels, Gael’s The Pinay Solo Backpacker that I can’t discuss any further as my sleepless nerves are begging me to hit the sack now.

That’s it. Read, travel, and blog then die. Jk.

PS. I agree with Rain of Rakistang Nars, we want Chichi back! 🙂
